The farm can be traced back to 1837 when Joshua Scott Sr. started farming the land near Mantua Creek. In March of 1876, Joshua Rockwell Scott Jr. purchased a larger farm bordering his father's farm. The farm was a general farm and with the increase of mechanization the work horses were sold and the barn was converted into a dairy barn.

The herd was finally sold off in the 1960's and the farm was rented by a neighboring nursery where Albert Scott worked until 1980. In 1984, Albert and his son David moved their small nursery back to the home farm in Deptford. Dave, with the help of his son Matt, now farm about 100 acres.
